Tulelake, Calif — This is the first in a serious of “Parks in Tulelake” and who they were and why they were named after them.
“Former Tulelake mayor and businessman dies of heart attack on Sept 15, 2008. Mike Bunch, 50, owner of Tulelake Auto Parts, was a lifetime Tulelake resident.
He was a leader in recent efforts to establish a veteran’s park in downtown Tulelake. Bunch also was a member of the Tulelake Chamber of Commerce and was involved in numerous community projects.”

A long-time downtown Tulelake business was closed; among the closures was Tulelake Auto Parts, which was operated by Mike Bunch and his father, (Dick) Richard. Following their deaths, and the deaths of other family members, the business closed.
Mike Bunch 1976 graduate of Tulelake High School in Tulelake, Shortly after Mike Bunch’s death the “Memorial Mike Bunch Park” was named after Mike Bunch of Tulelake. "Mike Bunch Park" located next to the Tulelake Library.
Mike Bunch’s dream was to have a place next to the Tulelake Library where people could study and use their Lap Top or Note Book Computers with WiFi signals coming from the library.
