Mud slinging at the Tulelake Butte Valley Fair Grounds

Tulelake, CA— On July 3rd the Tulelake Butte Valley Fair Grounds put on a fundraiser for the Tulelake Butte Valley Fair Grounds. Where a crowd of 975 people attended and enjoyed music, good food, the kid’s area and Mud Bogging in the Grand Stands.

It was a great time to spend the day with the kids enjoying all that the Tulelake Butte Valley Fair Grounds has to offer. From the music by Smoking Guns and beer gardens for people to be able to sit back and listen to some music. To watching the Mud Boggers making attempts to be the one to make it through the mud pits.

This year there were no fireworks as each year Tulelake and Malin switch having fireworks. This year it was Malin’s turn to have a classic car show and fireworks, as last year Tulelake had the fireworks and mud bogging. Next year, it will be Tulelake’s turn to have the Fireworks on the 4th of July.

The City of Tulelake loses $3,583 in Funding

Tulelake, CA— State Legislature Passes Last Minute Grab. The bills, AB 108/118, reallocated the roughly $130 million in VLF general revenues that cities have historically received to fund the continuation of the COPS program, grants to Sheriff’s in lieu of booking fees, and other law enforcement programs.

The bottom line, however, may be how the city of Tulelake actually budgeted for COPS and booking fees in the 2011-2012 budget years. If the City of Tulelake wasn’t counting on the COPS (and were counting on the return of booking fees) that’s a gain. But the City of Tulelake will lose all of its general purpose VLF-effectively to fund those law enforcement grants.

The City of Tulelake would lose $3,584.00 from the COPS program funding.

Review for KU STORIES Movie

Dan Benson and Ryan Pfiel need to take a course in photo Journalism, as the majority of shots were overhead shots of the subjects by a mile high. To be completely honest there were a few, mind you a few good shots when people were being interviewed, but not very many. From a Directors POV the film needs more work as three years was not enough. Two more years and you may have something to be proud of that the general public may buy, but in the state it is in now. From a director’s POV it needs even more improvement and it shows. Three years plus two more years may help improve it. But I doubt it Dan Benson and the editing was lacking as well.

The entire film moved slowly as the pacing was way to slow. IMO. There was more time spent in the 30’s, 40’s than for the 50’s on it got shorter and shorter from the 60’s to the 2000-11. There was not enough material for the 50’s-2011. Time for a rewrite or get more updates on the years that were lacking. Otherwise it was somewhat entertaining I sure would not pay $15.00 for a DVD. It was bad enough I was charged $4.00 for a movie that was worth $1.00 admission, if that. Sorry but I see it and call it as I see it. Better luck next time or go back to work and work it again. IMO the only one’s that might be interested in buying a copy are those that went to KUHS. No body else will buy it. Better luck next time.
